Why spend your honeymoon in the Sahara?
The desert is calm, wide open and nothing like a beach hotel. In our camp among the Erg Chebbi dunes there are no roads, no traffic and hardly any light at night – just sand, silence and a sky full of stars. It is an ideal place to unwind after the wedding.
From Canada, Morocco is closer than it looks on the map. There are nonstop flights from Montreal to Casablanca, and from Toronto, Vancouver or Calgary you usually connect via Montreal or Europe. From Marrakech or Fes our private driver takes you across the Atlas Mountains to Merzouga, and our family handles everything else: the transfer, a beautifully prepared tent, a private dinner and little surprises.

A day to remember
A typical honeymoon program
Most couples arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon. After a mint tea in the village, you ride to the camp on camels as the sun goes down, or take a short 4×4 transfer if you prefer. Your decorated tent is ready when you arrive.
In the evening we serve a private candle-lit dinner – soup, salads, a slow-cooked tagine and fresh fruit – followed by Berber drums around the fire, or simply a quiet night under the stars if you prefer. In the morning, climb the dune behind the camp to watch the sunrise before breakfast.

Choose your comfort
Luxury tent or deluxe tent with air-conditioning?
Our luxury tents have a real double bed, quality linen and a private bathroom with hot shower and toilet. They are the most popular choice for honeymoon couples from October to May, when the desert nights are cool and the days are pleasant.
From June to September the days in Merzouga can be very hot. For these months we recommend our deluxe tents with air-conditioning, so you can rest in the afternoon and sleep comfortably. Ask us for availability and the current price when you send your dates.

Ideas for a longer honeymoon in Morocco
Many couples combine the desert with a few nights in Marrakech or Fes and a private drive through the Atlas Mountains, the Dades Gorges and the Todra Gorge. We can organize a private driver for the whole trip, so you travel at your own pace and stop wherever you like.

Yes. Luxury and deluxe tents have their own bathroom with hot shower, sink and toilet inside the tent.
The days can reach 40 °C or more in July and August. In summer we recommend a deluxe tent with air-conditioning and activities early in the morning and at sunset.
Yes. We can plan a private tour with a driver from Marrakech, Fes or Casablanca – handy if you fly in from Montreal – combining riads, the Atlas Mountains, the gorges and the desert.
October to April is ideal: warm, sunny days in the desert while it is cold back home. From June to August it is very hot, so choose a deluxe tent with air-conditioning.
