Yoga Retreat in the Sahara Desert
Bring your New Zealand students to a place where the only sound is the wind. We host yoga teachers and their groups at our camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes, with a calm practice space, nourishing meals and every bit of logistics sorted.
- Sunrise & sunset sessions
- Quiet camp for your group
- Healthy, vegetarian-friendly food
- Transfers from Marrakech or Fes
Silence and space
Why hold a yoga retreat in the desert?
The Sahara adds something rare to a retreat: wide open space, soft sand, clean air and a deep stillness that makes it easy to turn inward. A sunrise session on a dune, with light slowly spreading over Erg Chebbi, stays with participants long after they fly home.
Many teachers from New Zealand combine the desert with Marrakech or Fes; flights usually connect via a hub such as Dubai, Doha, Istanbul or a European city. You lead the practice and we look after the camp, food, transport and activities, so you can give your full attention to your group.
- Practice area in the camp, with mats on request
- Sessions on the dunes at sunrise and sunset
- Private use of the camp for larger groups (on request)
- Meal times that fit around your practice schedule

For teachers
Hosting your own group
Send us your dates, the size of your group and your programme. We prepare a proposal with accommodation, meals, practice times and transport, and we can include the camp in a longer retreat that also visits Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains or Fes.
Groups can choose between standard tents with shared bathrooms, luxury tents with private bathrooms and deluxe tents with air-conditioning – or mix them to suit different budgets.
When to go
Best season for a desert retreat
The most comfortable months are October to April, with warm days and cool nights. March, April, October and November are ideal for long outdoor sessions. In winter the nights can be cold, so we provide extra blankets. From June to September we plan practice for early morning and evening only.
