Birthday Celebration in the Sahara

Make a birthday truly unforgettable: a camel ride at sunset, a cake on the dunes, Berber drums round the fire and a night under millions of stars – a celebration for couples, families and friends travelling from Hong Kong.

Celebrate differently

A birthday nobody will forget

A 30th, a 50th or a child’s very first desert adventure – a birthday in the Sahara becomes a story told again and again at family dinners. We prepare the camp, the cake, the decorations and the music, and we help you organise a surprise if the birthday person must not suspect a thing.

Travellers from Hong Kong often build the celebration into a longer Morocco holiday, as flights usually connect via a hub. A few days in Marrakech or Fes, a scenic drive over the Atlas and one or two nights in the dunes make a perfect birthday trip. Tell us how you want to celebrate, quietly or with a party, and we plan the evening around you.

For every age

Birthday ideas for couples, families and friends

For couples we prepare a romantic evening with a private dinner and decorated tent. For families we plan easy activities such as a short camel ride, sandboarding and stargazing, and a cake that children will love. For groups of friends we add music, fire and adventure activities such as quad bikes and buggies.

Example evening

How a birthday night in the desert works

  • Late afternoon: arrival in Merzouga and camel ride into the dunes
  • Sunset: toast on a dune and group photos
  • Evening: dinner with a birthday cake and candles
  • Night: drums, songs and stargazing around the fire
  • Morning: sunrise and breakfast in the camp

Make it a weekend

Add a second day of adventure

Stay two nights and add a 4×4 day trip to the nomads, the Gnawa musicians of Khamlia and the seasonal desert lakes, or a morning of quad bikes on the big dunes. It turns the birthday into a real desert holiday.
