Yoga Retreat in the Sahara Desert

Practice yoga and meditation in the silence of the dunes. We host Canadian yoga teachers and their groups at our camp in Erg Chebbi, with a calm practice space, nourishing meals and every logistical detail looked after.

Silence and space

Why hold a yoga retreat in the desert?

The Sahara gives a retreat something rare: endless space, soft sand, pure air and a silence so deep it becomes easy to look inward. A sunrise session on a dune, with the first light slowly reaching across Erg Chebbi, stays with students long after the retreat ends.

It is also a wonderful winter escape from Canada. From November to March the desert usually has sunny, mild days, and there are nonstop flights from Montreal to Casablanca, with connections via Europe from other Canadian cities. You lead the practice; we take care of the camp, the meals, transportation and activities, so you can give your group your full attention.

For teachers

Hosting your own group

Send us your dates, the size of your group and your program. We prepare a proposal with accommodation, meals, practice times and transport, and we can include the camp in a longer retreat that also visits Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains or Fes.

Groups can choose between standard tents with shared bathrooms, luxury tents with private bathrooms and deluxe tents with air-conditioning – or mix them to suit different budgets.

When to go

Best season for a desert retreat

The most comfortable months are October to April, with warm days and cool nights. March, April, October and November are ideal for long outdoor sessions. In winter the nights can be cold, so we provide extra blankets. From June to September we plan practice for early morning and evening only.
