The experience
The slow, real way to discover the Sahara
A camel trek is how people crossed the Sahara for centuries – and it is still the best way to feel the desert. You walk at your own pace through dunes, flat stony plains (the hamada) and small oases, while the camels carry water, food and equipment.
Your guide is a Berber from Merzouga who knows every well and every shortcut. Along the way you meet nomad families, drink tea in their tents, visit Khamlia village and see fossils and old mines. Every evening we set up a wild camp in a quiet spot, cook dinner on the fire and sleep under the stars.
We design the route around your time and fitness – from a single day to a two-week expedition around Erg Chebbi.
- Routes designed for your level and time
- Ride a camel whenever you feel tired
- Combine with nights in our luxury camp
