Silence and space
Why hold a yoga retreat in the desert?
The Sahara gives a retreat a special quality: wide horizons, soft sand, pure air and a silence that invites people to look inwards. Morning practice on a dune, as the first light moves across Erg Chebbi, is a moment your students will carry home with them.
For European teachers it is also a practical choice. Direct flights link many cities with Marrakech and Fes in two to four hours, and the time difference is small, so participants arrive rested. You lead the practice; we look after the camp, meals, transport and activities, so you can focus fully on your group.
- Shaded practice area in the camp, mats on request
- Sessions on the dunes at sunrise and sunset
- Private use of the camp for larger groups (on request)
- Flexible meal times around your programme

For teachers
Hosting your own group
Send us your dates, the size of your group and your programme. We prepare a proposal with accommodation, meals, practice times and transport, and we can include the camp in a longer retreat that also visits Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains or Fes.
Groups can choose between standard tents with shared bathrooms, luxury tents with private bathrooms and deluxe tents with air-conditioning – or mix them to suit different budgets.
When to go
Best season for a desert retreat
The most comfortable months are October to April, with warm days and cool nights. March, April, October and November are ideal for long outdoor sessions. In winter the nights can be cold, so we provide extra blankets. From June to September we plan practice for early morning and evening only.
