Why spend your honeymoon in the Sahara?
Instead of another seaside resort, choose silence and space. At our camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes there are no roads, no traffic and almost no artificial light – only sand, stillness and stars. It is the perfect setting to relax after the wedding and enjoy each other’s company.
From most European capitals Morocco is only two to four hours away, with direct flights to Marrakech and Fes from many cities. Morocco is on GMT+1, so for much of Europe there is little or no time difference. From the airport our private driver takes you across the Atlas Mountains to Merzouga, and our family takes care of the rest: a beautifully prepared tent, a private dinner and small surprises.

A day to remember
A typical honeymoon programme
Most couples arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon. After a mint tea in the village, you ride to the camp on camels as the sun goes down, or take a short 4×4 transfer if you prefer. Your decorated tent is ready when you arrive.
In the evening we serve a private candlelit dinner – soup, salads, a slow-cooked tagine and fresh fruit – followed by Berber drums around the fire, or simply a quiet night under the stars if you prefer. In the morning, climb the dune behind the camp to watch the sunrise before breakfast.

Choose your comfort
Luxury tent or deluxe tent with air-conditioning?
Our luxury tents have a real double bed, quality linen and a private bathroom with hot shower and toilet. They are the most popular choice for honeymoon couples from October to May, when the desert nights are cool and the days are pleasant.
From June to September the days in Merzouga can be very hot. For these months we recommend our deluxe tents with air-conditioning, so you can rest in the afternoon and sleep comfortably. Ask us for availability and the current price when you send your dates.

Ideas for a longer honeymoon in Morocco
Many couples combine the desert with a few nights in Marrakech or Fes and a private drive through the Atlas Mountains, the Dades Gorges and the Todra Gorge. We can organise a private driver for the whole trip, so you travel at your own pace and stop wherever you like.
