Travelling to Merzouga from Singapore
Travelling from Singapore? Here are the essentials for your trip to Merzouga.
Flights from Singapore
There are no direct flights; fly one-stop via Dubai, Doha or Istanbul to Casablanca or Marrakech, or connect through a European hub. Allow about 16–21 hours of travel each way.
Entry rules
Singapore passport holders need no visa for stays of up to 90 days. Carry a passport valid for at least 6 months.
Money
Prices in S$ are a guide; the 15% deposit is charged in euros by PayPal and the rest is paid in Merzouga. S$1 ≈ 7.6 MAD.
Seasons
The November–December school holidays and Lunar New Year are great times to visit. June is very hot in the desert.
Good to know
Morocco is 7 hours behind Singapore (8 during Ramadan). Bring an adapter: Singapore Type G plugs don’t fit Moroccan Type C/E sockets.
Getting the shot
Sunrise and sunset give the best light; keep sand away from your camera with a zip bag.
