Birthday Celebration in the Sahara

Celebrate somewhere completely different from home: a sunset camel ride, a cake on the dunes, Berber drums around the fire and a night under millions of stars. For couples, families and groups of friends travelling from Singapore.

Celebrate differently

A birthday nobody will forget

A 30th, a 60th or a child’s first adventure in the desert – a birthday in the Sahara is a story people retell for years. We prepare the camp, the cake, the decoration and the music, and help you plan a surprise if the birthday person should not know.

Families from Singapore often visit during the June or December school holidays; flights usually connect via a hub such as Dubai, Doha, Istanbul or a European city. Small or big, quiet or lively – tell us how you want to celebrate and we plan the evening around you.

Birthday ideas for couples, families and friends

For couples we prepare a romantic evening with a private dinner and decorated tent. For families we plan easy activities such as a short camel ride, sandboarding and stargazing, and a cake that children will love. For groups of friends we add music, fire and adventure activities such as quad bikes and buggies.

Example evening

How a birthday night in the desert works

  • Late afternoon: arrival in Merzouga and camel ride into the dunes
  • Sunset: toast on a dune and group photos
  • Evening: dinner with a birthday cake and candles
  • Night: drums, songs and stargazing around the fire
  • Morning: sunrise and breakfast in the camp

Make it a weekend

Add a second day of adventure

Stay two nights and add a 4×4 day trip to the nomads, the Gnawa musicians of Khamlia and the seasonal desert lakes, or a morning of quad bikes on the big dunes. It turns the birthday into a real desert holiday.
