The experience

The wild side of the Moroccan Sahara

South-west of Merzouga the desert becomes wide, quiet and empty. This trip starts the classic way – by camel into Erg Chebbi for a night in the dunes – and then goes where few tourists travel.

On day two your driver takes you off-road around the Merzouga desert: nomad families, Berber villages, black hamada and dry lakes. In the evening you reach Ouzina, a small oasis village at the foot of its own dunes and low mountains, and sleep in a local hotel near the sand. After breakfast on day three you drive back to Merzouga.
