Across the Sahara, dune to dune
This is the great desert journey of southern Morocco: from the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to M’hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the dunes of Erg Chegaga. Most of the way follows desert tracks, old caravan routes and small oases.
Day one takes you to the Berber villages of Khamlia, Mifis and Taouz before the night in Ouzina. Day two continues through Ramlia, Oubahlou and Tafraout Sidi Ali to Zagora. On day three you walk in the Zagora palm groves, visit Tamegroute and drive on to M’hamid.
