Weddings in the dunes
An unforgettable place to say yes
A desert wedding is simple and unforgettable at the same time: sunset light on the dunes, the rhythm of Berber drums, a long table under the stars and all your guests together in one camp. It’s a celebration your family and friends will talk about for years.
For American couples, a Sahara wedding is a true destination wedding. Guests usually fly nonstop from New York to Casablanca or connect via Europe to Marrakech or Fes, and many turn the trip into a week or more in Morocco. We organize symbolic ceremonies, vow renewals, elopements and full parties, and our Merzouga team takes care of the ceremony spot, decor, food, music, accommodations and guest transfers.
- Symbolic ceremony or vow renewal on a dune
- Exclusive use of the camp for larger groups (on request)
- Traditional Berber music, fire and dancing
- Guest accommodations in luxury, deluxe A/C or standard tents

Plan with us
How we plan a wedding in Merzouga
Every wedding is different, so we start with a simple conversation: your date, the number of guests, the style you like and your budget. We then send you a detailed proposal with accommodation, food, decoration and activities.
Closer to the date we confirm the final number of guests, the menu and the timing. On the day, our team is with you from the arrival of the first guests to the last song around the fire.
- 1. Send us your date, number of guests and ideas
- 2. Receive a custom proposal and price
- 3. Confirm with a deposit
- 4. We organize transfers, tents, food, music and decoration
- 5. Enjoy your day – we take care of the rest
Legal information
Symbolic ceremony or legal marriage?
Most couples who marry in the desert hold a symbolic ceremony and complete the legal marriage at home before or after the trip. A legal marriage in Morocco involves official paperwork and rules that depend on your nationality and religion, so please check with your embassy.
A symbolic ceremony gives you complete freedom: you can write your own vows, choose a friend to lead the ceremony and mix traditions from both families.
For your guests
Make it a desert weekend
Give your guests more than one evening. Many couples plan two or three nights in Merzouga with a welcome dinner, the wedding day and a relaxed farewell breakfast. Between the celebrations your guests can try quad bikes, buggies, sandboarding or a 4×4 trip to the nomads and the desert lakes.
